Mossey romps to easy success Mossey Joe completed his hat-trick in style as he cruised to an easy twenty-eight length success under Damien Skehan in the Dan Linehan’s Bar Hunters Chase. Warne won the battle for favouritism going off the 5/4 ‘jolly’ but Mossey Joe certainly won the battle that mattered most, hitting the front before the sixth and stretching clear in the straight to come home well in front of Universal Truth in second at 25/1 under Richie Kiely for Andrew McNamara. Whitty’s Choice (25/1) finished thirteen lengths back in third under Ambrose McCurtin for John Joe Walsh while the Brian Hamilton trained Warne could only manage a disappointing fourth under Mikey Fogarty. Winning trainer Declan McNamara said afterwards: “We’ll step him up in class now and we might bring him to Stratford to take on Salsify. "The Galway Plate and the Kerry National are also on the agenda. He will be better on better ground and hopefully the handicapper won’t inconvenience him too much for winning hunter chases. "It’s the first time he ever settled today and he is a lot more relaxed at home recently. He has seen sense at last!" Additional reporting by Thomas Weekes
