Custom Cut is set to defend his crown in next Friday's Shadwell Joel Stakes at Newmarket following his comprehensive victory on Irish Champions Weekend.

The tough-as-teak six-year-old clinched his 12th career success overall in Leopardstown's Boomerang Stakes and another bold show at Headquarters next week could earn him a shot at Group One glory in the Prix de la Foret at Longchamp on October 4.

Trainer David O'Meara said: " He's a brilliant little horse. He'll go on any ground and is incredibly tough.

"He might go to the Joel Stakes. I think he's unpenalised for that and that will tell us whether we take him to the Foret or look at options overseas."

One O'Meara inmate almost certainly bound for Paris next month is Move In Time.

The seven-year-old is in prime condition to bid for back-to-back wins in the Prix de l'Abbaye after landing the Prix du Petit Couvert over the course and distance last week.

"He's very effective at Longchamp. He's been there four times now and has a couple of wins, including the Abbaye last year," O'Meara told At The Races.

"He obviously loves the place and he'll go back now to the Abbaye and try to give Mecca's Angel a run."
