O'Brien pays huge tax bill Aidan O'Brien has made a tax settlement, under the name of Whisperview Trading Ltd, in excess of half a million euro. The master of Ballydoyle was in the top ten names listed in the latest defaulters' list, and the total amount paid of €526,077 included unpaid tax of €177,640 together with interest and penalties of €348,477. O'Brien settled the huge bill following an investigation into tax evasion on offshore assets. Details of a total of 114 settlements were published today, with revenue audits and investigations yielding a total of €113 million in the three months ended June 2011.
