O'Connor Update

Conditional jockey Matt O'Connor who suffered a heavy fall in Thurles at the end of March has made significant progress since Sunday.

Family relative and former Chief Turf Club Medical Officer Dr Walter Halley said, "I was talking to Caroline and John [O'Connor] this morning and he is in good form. He is now out of Intensive Care and things are going the right way. The O'Connor family wanted me to pass on their thanks to everyone who has phoned and sent letters. Visiting is still limited."

Jockey Alan Crowe has been sent for an x-ray of his left-hand following a fall he got yesterday. Paul Townend and Andrew Leigh will not ride today. Both have bruising. Davy Russell has been passed by the doctor and will ride today.
