One And Only (12/1) continued Oliver McKiernan's good form with a two-length success in the William Hill Challenge Series Handicap Hurdle on Limerick's card. Dalmatic and Gary Noonan attempted to assert two out, but the one horse that they weren't able to shake off was One And Only.

Phillip Enright had plenty of horse under him in One And Only, and the pair came with their challenge to lead before the last and soon increased the margin on the run-in.

They went on by two lengths from the 22/1 runner-up. There was a 17-length gap back to 85/40 favourite Mickey Hulie in third.

McKiernan said: "This morning I wondered should we run the horse on this bottomless ground, but he galloped through it. We left all the headgear off him today and I thought he did it very genuinely.

"There weren't many of our horses right this season and he wasn't 100 per cent either and at Fairyhouse the last day, a horse fell in front of him and he was pulled up. He is a fine big horse and is athletic looking."

Regarding his presence at today's Cheltenham-week meeting McKiernan, a builder and developer, added: "It's a while since I had a runner in Cheltenham, almost back when I was a young lad, but I like to be the races to see my horses run.

"I haven't been in a hurry going back (to Cheltenham) with no-hopers since my last runners about 10 years ago, but I remember going over with Star Performance in a cross-country race (2004) when he finished second to Spot Thedifference. If I hadn't given his jockey Garrett Cotter the wrong instructions, he'd have won and I can still see him catching our lad!"

This was McKiernan's third winner from his last six runners.
