The Raceday Stewards granted a request from John Patrick Ryan, trainer of The Little Yank and La Tene for an additional ten minutes to present his charges for identification by an IHRB Official in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90(i)
The Raceday Stewards received a report from Hugh Hynes, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that Brian Barry, rider of La Tene, presented to weigh out at two pounds overweight which had not been declared. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that it was an error of judgement on his part regarding his weight and apologised. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Brian Barry was in breach of Rule 198(vii)(a) and in considering his clean record in this regard they fined him €150. The Raceday Stewards also granted a request from John Patrick Ryan, trainer, to substitute H.E Sexton for Brian Barry.
An extended handicap hurdle for four years old and upwards rated 0-100 Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap shall carry 7lb extra for each hurdle race won.
