Ridden by Dubai World Cup-winning jockey Joel Rosario, Orb made light of the sloppy track at Churchill Downs to win the first leg of the American Triple Crown in style. He powered clear to beat Golden Soul with fellow market leader Revolutionary back in third after heavy rain in Louisville turned the Run for the Roses into a real slog. Aidan O'Brien's Lines Of Battle kept on well to finish seventh without ever landing a telling blow.
