Pique Sous gets Winter Derby entry Pique Sous has received an entry in next month's Winter Derby at Lingfield. It is almost five years since the grey gave his owners the Supreme Horse Racing Club a big thrill by finishing third in the Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham Festival. He has suffered his fair share of setbacks since, but has still managed to win nine races including a Grade Two over hurdles and the Queen Alexandra Stakes at Royal Ascot in 2014. The Willie Mullins-trained 10-year-old has not been seen in competitive action since finishing seventh in the Ascot Stakes back at the Berkshire circuit last June, but is closing in on a comeback. Steve Massey, racing manager for the owners, said: "He's had a few little niggles over the last few years, but nothing too serious. "He's fit and well at the moment and hopefully he'll be ready to go shortly. "He has a number of options coming up and it's good to have him back. "He's been a little star for us." The Winter Derby is run at Lingfield on February 25, with a total prize fund of £100,000 up for grabs in the Group Three contest.
