Poignant win for Fahys He’s A Delight was an appropriate winner of the concluding Rockview Bumper at Gowran today, winning for father/son trainer/jockey combination of Pat and Conor Fahy. Today’s opening race was run in memory of jockey Ronan Lawlor who was killed in a fall at Fahy’s yard while riding out a year ago. Fahy Jnr had been a good friend of the young rider. Afterwards Fahy Snr reported “He’s A Delight’s owners had been keen to run him over hurdles but Conor asked them to run him in today’s bumper, in order to have a ride on today’s card which was in memory of Ronan.” Regarding his triple point to point winner Fahy stated “I didn’t think he’d win a bumper as he doesn’t show a lot of pace at home. We may go for another bumper but he’ll go hurdling soon.” Fahy Jnr has now ridden six racecourse winners, along with two point to points. Thomas Weekes
