There will be a precautionary inspection at Naas tomorrow morning ahead of Sunday’s scheduled eight-race Flat card — first race due to go to post at 1.25pm.

Clerk of the Course Brendan Sheridan said, “Since declarations yesterday morning we have had a further 7mm of rain at Naas.

“When we spoke to Met Eireann prior to declarations the forecast was for 8-10mm before racing but they now say we could get another 10mm of rain tonight.

“The ground is heavy and has been since earlier in the week so, with the updated forecast in mind, we are going to call an inspection for 7.30 tomorrow morning to take another look at the track ahead of racing.”

Meanwhile the going at Limerick is now soft to heavy, heavy in places, following a further 10mm of rain in the past 24 hours. There is no further significant rain forecast between now and racing tomorrow afternoon.

Limerick hosts a seven-race National Hunt card on Sunday with the action getting underway at 1.40pm.
