Prendergast on crest of Coral Wave Patrick Prendergast is hoping Coral Wave can pick up some Pattern-race black type when she tackles the Group Three C.L. Weld Park Stakes at the Curragh tomorrow. The daughter of Rock of Gibraltar got off the mark in a Listed race over a mile on the same track two weeks ago and drops back a furlong. Ease in the ground suits Coral Wave, who missed the Moyglare Stud Stakes because conditions were not favourable. "I'm happy with her. I think it's a good opportunity to get some black type. Anything else would be a bonus," said the County Kildare trainer. "She loves cut in the ground. I think that's the factor in her improvement. "Her first two runs where she ran well were on good ground, but the last day it was slow and she handles that ground very well. "I think she'll put up a good show."
