After a couple of placed efforts on turf, the Joseph O'Brien-trained Angelight (11/4) made a winning all-weather debut in the BAR 1 Betting Fillies Maiden at Dundalk.

Having her first outing since being touched off at Limerick in July, the 77-rated daughter of Pinatubo tracked the leaders and hit the front inside the final furlong before going away to beat Pretty Omagh Girl by a length and a quarter.

Winning rider Declan McDonogh, sporting the colours of owner John C Oxley, said: "Race went nicely, the pace was strong.

"I was a little bit tardy from the gates the first three strides and then I was able to just hold a spot nicely.

"She was a little bit timid in behind them. When she got a bit of room in the straight, she ran on strong.

"It is a while since she ran, so she might have been a little bit rusty. You need to be on your game here.

"They went hard and I think she stays well. She could progress."
