Queally eyes Punchestown for Rocky's Diamond Declan Queally Jnr is lining up a Grade 2 assignment for Rocky's Diamond after his close second in Listed company at Wexford at the end of last month. The five-year-old gelding, who won at Grade 2 level over hurdles, impressed on his first crack at the bigger obstacles in a beginners' chase at Galway in September. That brought him to the Listed Michael Hickey Memorial Steeplechase in Wexford where he led throughout before being collared in the closing stages by the 147-rated Blizzard Of Oz. Queally said: "You could take a lot of positives out of his Wexford run, as it was a slowly run race and Paul Townend rode a very clever race (on Blizzard Of Oz). He followed us and didn't attack us until late. "I was very happy and you'd be coming out of the race saying he was still a very good horse. You could take a lot of positives out of it as we nearly beat Willie's (Mullins) horse, so you'd be delighted. "He will probably go for the Florida Pearl next as he needs three miles. I don't think he'll be going for the Drinmore (at Fairyhouse) unless it came up very heavy." The Boodles Florida Pearl Novice Steeplechase takes place at Punchestown on Saturday November 22nd.
