Quinn expecting mighty performance from Jm Jungle John Quinn is targeting a big performance in Paris with his sprinter Jm Jungle. Jm Jungle set for Prix de l’Abbaye challenge John Quinn is confident Jm Jungle can make his mark in the Prix de l’Abbaye, as the in-form sprinter aims to follow in the footsteps of former stable star Highfield Princess at ParisLongchamp. The Malton trainer previously sent out El Astronaute (2019) and Liberty Beach (2020) to finish third before Highfield Princess’ triumphant visit to the French capital on her penultimate start in 2023. Quinn is now looking to add his name to the roll of honour alongside his son and training partner Sean, believing the five-year-old has all the right attributes after a season in which he has adapted well to Group-level competition. Trainer optimistic about form and track conditions “We’re absolutely happy with Jm Jungle, he’s in good nick and I think he’ll like the track, so we’ll look forward to running him,” said Quinn of the King George Stakes winner, who was sixth in the Nunthorpe last time. “I think he’s got that early speed you need at Longchamp, I just hope he gets a reasonable draw. From the three runners we’ve had in the race, Highfield Princess won it and Liberty Beach went close and El Astronaute was also third in it. A winner and two placed isn’t bad, so let’s hope we can keep rolling. I think Jm Jungle has the right profile and he’s in good form. He’s a great horse and all ground comes alike to him and he wouldn’t mind a bit of ease in the ground. Some horses might not go on it, but he does, he goes on all ground.”
