Rhine has York option Across The Rhine could be heading for York following his all-the-way win at the Curragh on Saturday. The Debenhams City of York Stakes on August 20th falls in neatly for the five-year-old, who is trained by Tracey Collins. The Cuvee gelding landed his first Pattern-race success in the Group Three contest in the Minstrel Stakes and could try to follow up that success next month. "He's come out of it super. He just needs a bit of time between his races so he's having an easy time at the moment," said the County Kildare trainer. "He holds a couple of entries. The owner will be over for York and there's a race there for him, so we'll probably send him for that." Collins would love to run Arctic over six furlongs on soft ground again after finding the minimum trip on fast conditions unsuitable on his latest start when he was fifth to Invincible Ash. The four-year-old grey, a Group Three winner on heavy going in 2009, is entered in the Phoenix Sprint Stakes at the Curragh and the Goldene Peitsche at Baden-Baden. "He ran OK the other day. He just needs soft ground. It seems to get soft in Ireland when there are no six-furlong races," she went on. "He wasn't beaten far and we'll campaign him over six furlongs. "He's in at the Curragh on August 7th and he also holds an entry in Baden-Baden in the Goldene Peitsche." Aoife Alainn is also one of Collins' string that likes to get her toe in. A Group One winner last October when trained in Italy, the four-year-old was fifth to Misty For Me in the Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh last month on her first run since being switched to the Collins stable. "She's a Group One winner and she's a filly that needs a bit of cut in the ground, so we are kind of hampered trying to get her out on the track," she continued. "She holds an entry in the Nassau and a couple of other nice entries. "It's quite difficult for us to send those fillies that have Group One penalties, so it's case of placing her properly."
