Sir Des Champs set for chasing campaign Sir Des Champs, who won the Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival in March, is set to go chasing his term, but his trainer Willie Mullins is open-minded over what distance the five-year-old will end up. Mullins said of his French import: "He's going jumping but I haven't discussed distances with his owners yet. "We'll see how he jumps fences. He jumped them well last year when we schooled him. "If he shows gears we'll go for the Arkle, but I never make a decision about that at this time of the year. "He won a two-and-a-half mile hurdle at Cheltenham last season and that would suggest he would have no trouble going staying chasing. "We'll probably start him off at the minimum trip."
