Tiger Roll set for Cross Country campaign Gordon Elliott believes it will be very hard for Tiger Roll to repeat his Grand National win of last season. The eight-year-old bounced back to form last spring, winning the Cross Country Chase at Cheltenham in March, his second Festival success. He then followed up at Aintree in terrific style, but his trainer feels his likely mark this season will make life tough. Elliott told At The Races: “We’ll go down the cross-country route again. “It’s going to be very hard for him to regain his title in the English National with the weight he’ll have and the size of him. “But, if we can get him back to Cheltenham and win the Cross Country again I’ll be happy. “He could run tomorrow if I wanted to, my head man Simon McGonagle rides him every day and he’s very happy with him.”
