Trainer Pat Lally dies suddenly Veteran trainer Pat Lally passed away suddenly on Saturday. The 72-year-old suffered a fatal heart attack while attending Navan Hospital's casualty department having become unwell earlier in the day. The trainer was in great form at Navan races last Wednesday when celebrating the victory of his 3-Y-O Mac Tiernan. Lally will be best remembered for Miss Therese which he owned and trained to win the 1973 running of the Blandford Stakes at odds of 100/1 ridden by Gabriel 'Squibs' Curran.
