The weekend's racing programme remains shrouded in some doubt amid the threat posed by Storm Goretti but, as things stand, it promises to be a busy Saturday with key meetings from Kempton, Warwick and Fairyhouse over jumps alongside the all-weather cards at Lingfield and Newcastle.

We've picked out two horses worth following on Saturday's cards.

Bailey's Rocket worth step up in grade

Warwick's Classic Chase card is one of the features on Saturday and the supporting events include the Grade 2 William Hill Price Boosts Every Day Hampton Novices' Chase (1.52) over three-miles where MOON ROCKET is fancied to land the prize for Kim Bailey and Ciaran Gethings.

He's one of six contenders, with fellow chase winners Wade Out (Olly Murphy), Doyen Quest (Dan Skelton), The Jukebox Kid (Ben Pauling) Laurens Bay and Hollygrove Cha Cha (both Jamie Snowden) completing the line-up.

It's a good race for the grade and Moon Rocket merits his position in this class of race.

The six-year-old Doyen gelding was twice placed in Grade 2 novice hurdles over this trip last season at Doncaster and Haydock after starting his jumping career with smooth successes on Town Moor (2m5f, good to soft) and at Southwell (3m½f, soft) having joined this handler from Sean Doyle after winning an Irish point-to-point.

He was back at Doncaster in November for his fencing bow and travelled superbly in a Novices' Limited Handicap Chase before going clear to win well.

He attempted to follow up at the same venue in December under a penalty and was unlucky to lose a match race against Gamesters Guy by a diminishing half-length in a typically tactical affair that resulted in a sprint to the finishing line.

Given the make-up of this field, a more searching test of stamina is anticipated and that should play to the growing strengths of Moon Rocket, who looks to have more progress up his sleeve.

A strong gallop, allied to his promising technique over the obstacles should result in a second win of the season and a first at Grade 2 level after he was inconvenienced in a close finish to the River Don Novices' Hurdle at Doncaster in this month last year.

Path D'oroux has a squeak in Fairyhouse feature

At Fairyhouse the feature race is the Tote-backed Dan & Joan Moore Memorial Handicap Chase over just shy of two-and-a-quarter-miles, with a handsome €60,000 on offer to the winner.

Top-weight Blood Destiny (Paul Townend) is one of four for Willie Mullins alongside Tullyhill (Danny Mullins), Western Diego (Brian Hayes) and More Coko (Sean Cleary-Farrell) while Gordon Elliott saddles Touch Me Not (James Smith) and St Faz (Sam Ewing).

Last year's winner, The King Of Prs goes again for Gavin Cromwell but has largely struggled since and so, instead, it's the runner-up from 12 months ago, PATH D'OROUX, that is fancied to outrun decent odds for the Cromwell team — who also have Midnight It Is and The Other Mozzie in the race. Path D'oroux was denied less than three-lengths behind The King Of Prs here a year ago, despite conceding a lump of weight, with Midnight It Is following them home in a one-two-three for the yard.

This season has been tough for the Cromwell contingent, but it would be no shock to see things improving as the spring nears.

Path D'oroux was a good third in the Weatherbys nhstallions.co.uk Graduation Chase at Carlisle (2m, good to soft) in November's comeback run behind Steel Ally and Unexpected Party — both winners since.

He acquitted himself well enough in two spins since over hurdles and is back for a second crack at this race off the same mark of 142. It's an open renewal and odds of around 22/1 appear generous for this each-way contender.
