This afternoon's National Hunt fixture at Warwick has passed an 8am precautionary inspection.

Frost had been the potential issue, but clerk of the course Jane Hedley was happy with conditions when she assessed the track shortly before 8am.

Hedley said: "It's good news. Temperatures didn't get as low as they might have done overnight so we are good to go."

He went on: "It's likely to be overcast and cold all day, with a high of 1C, but we are racing."

The going is soft, with the seven-race card due to start at 12.55pm.

Huntingdon has announced an 8am precautionary inspection ahead of its jumps meeting on Friday.

There was no ground frost at the Cambridgeshire circuit on Thursday morning, but temperatures are set to remain cold.
