Weather watch for Rayeni

Plans for Rayeni will be geared around his preferred soft going following a fine effort on his seasonal reappearance in the Boylesports.com Irish 2000 Guineas.

The Aga Khan-owned colt put up a highly-creditable display on his first outing in Group One company when clear second best behind impressive winner Mastercraftsman in Saturday's Curragh Classic, run on heavy ground.

It was his first start of the season following a promising first campaign when he won his two starts, a maiden and a Group Three, in October.

'He's come out of the race fine, and there are no problems with him. There are no plans just yet and it depends on the weather as he needs it soft,' said trainer John Oxx.
