Blow Wind Blow made most of the running to run out an easy winner of the Holycross Maiden Hurdle for Enda Bolger and Mark Walsh.

The JP McManus gelding took a drop in class today in the ‘unplaced’ event and was sent to post 3/1 second choice in the market.

He was to the fore throughout and turned for home along with Not Leaving Yet in the two-mile-six contest.

The grey went on after the second last and was nicely on top over the final flight as Walsh could afford to ease up late on for a 13-length success.

"He is a big 17-hands horse and we're obviously looking forward to him for next season. We'll stay going now as he goes on that soft ground,” said Bolger.

"He will be a lovely horse when he goes over a fence, but we'll keep doing what we're doing at the moment. He has a big frame to fill into."

The 4/9 favourite Eliodam proved a disappointment, running very keenly and pulling up before the second-last flight.
