Jim McGrath joins At The Races

At The Races announced today that Jim McGrath is to join the company as a Presenter. Jim will host ATR studio broadcasts as well as UK, Ireland and international racecourse-based coverage.

Jim has been the BBC´s senior commentator since 1997 when he succeeded Sir Peter O´Sullevan. Previously, he was a racecourse commentator in the UK as well as calling races in Ireland, France, Australia and Hong Kong. Jim is also the Daily Telegraph´s 'Hotspur'.

Jim McGrath said 'The in-depth coverage of racing is dependent more and more on satellite and cable TV these days and joining At The Races is a fantastic opportunity for me to become involved again on a regular day to day basis. I am very excited about it. I am also looking forward to working with many familiar faces, both on-camera and behind the scenes.'

Matthew Imi, Chief Executive of At The Races, said 'We are absolutely delighted that Jim will be working with At The Races going forward. He is one of the industry´s leading broadcast figures and is held in tremendous regard not just in the UK and Ireland but wherever in the world one finds top class horseracing. We attach considerable importance to the role of the Presenter and think very carefully about those with whom we would most like to work as they have a hugely important part to play in the success of our business. On that basis I have no doubt that Jim´s contribution will be significant. '
