Formscan - BASS HUNTER was a really smart bumper horse last season and confirmed the promise of his Newbury and Ascot triumphs when running a blinder at the Cheltenham Festival. Third behind The Mourne Rambler in the Champion Bumper, he can be forgiven a lacklustre effort at Aintree and is a really exciting recruit to the novice hurdle ranks. He can make a winning start over timber, but this is no penalty kick because Anniversary was a nice type on the Flat and always looked in control when making a winning jumps bow at Fontwell. Keep an eye on Bankatary as well.
