FormscanBy Mark Nunan - GRINGO D’AINAY has shown definite race-winning potential and gets the nod in a competitive contest. John Queally’s charge was third in a Wexford maiden in early March and was again nearest at the finish when fifth, having been hampered by fallers, on handicap debut at Naas later that month. He may well improve for better ground and the extra furlong will certainly be in his favour. Prince Zaltar was partnered by Rachael Blackmore when winning on handicap debut at Tramore and was third over 3m at Wexford last month. Like the selection, he’s open to more improvement. The consistent Dylan Lombardy is one of two runners for local trainer Eoin McCarthy and was a solid third at Limerick last time. He’s likely to be in the mix again while Woodbrook Boy and Rare Conor, first and third in the corresponding race a year ago, may step up on recent efforts.
