FormscanBy Tom Weekes - ROWDY has yet to win from 10 lifetime starts but seems a progressive five-year-old who ran well over today’s distance at Cork recently. Well suited by testing ground, the selection was narrowly beaten at Cork where he finished ahead of many rivals, and a reproduction would give him every chance from 4lb higher. Torps is also suited by heavy-ground and has run well here twice in recent months, albeit the form of those maidens is not outstanding. He steps up in distance for the first time and should compete. Dual chase-winner Midweek Voices finished nicely behind the selection at Cork but should improve from that effort, which was his first run for 269 days.

Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap shall carry 7lb extra for each hurdle race won.
Riders - 1. Lady Riders who hold a Licence under I.N.H.S. Rules who have not lost the right to claim an allowance under Rule 52 (up to and including 21st December). 2. Lady Riders who hold a Permit to ride in hurdle races against Professional Riders issued by any other Recognised Turf Authority. The IHRB have suspended the relevant parts of Rule 135 for the purposes of this race. Allowances - (up to and including 21st December and which are not cumulative) Riders who have not ridden 3 *winners allowed..........7lb; Riders who have not ridden 20 *winners allowed..........4lb; Riders who have not ridden 30 *winners allowed..........2lb.
