FormscanBy Shane Redmond - SILLY MONGOOSE (7) has gone close on each of his two outings of late and might just be up to the task. Three subsequent winners have come out of the race he finished third in here at the beginning of the month, his first start in 11 weeks, and the well-supported favourite that beat him to win at Punchestown last week went close to following up at Limerick over the weekend. Market Ready goes back into a handicap hurdle after running a big race in a maiden hurdle at Tramore in August and looks a danger along with two horses that won here three weeks ago, Private Policy who got up in the last stride to win over a longer trip, and the less exposed Bobby Kirova who won with a lot more in hand over a distance closer to today's.

An extended handicap hurdle for three years old and upwards that have not won a hurdle race (excluding Academy Hurdles and 3-y-o Junior N.H. Hurdles) before 1st February 2026 (110 = 11st 12lbs)
Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap shall carry 7lb extra for each hurdle race won.
