B.M. Coen, rider of Aurora Mist, trained by Andrew Slattery, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got a bump from the inside at the furlong pole
The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident turning into the home straight where it appeared L.T. McAteer rider of Princess Sioux was retreating and had to sit for a stride. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the home straight involving Aquilla Star, ridden by C.D. Hayes, placed second, Aurora Mist, ridden by B.M. Coen, placed fourth, and Believe Believe, ridden by J.A. Powell, unplaced, where it appeared J.A. Powell had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J.A. Powell stated that his mount was retreating and he had to take back for a stride. B.M. Coen stated that his mount shied away from the horse on his inner. C.D. Hayes stated that the horse in front of him stopped and he tried to correct his mount without making a maneuver and she overexaggerated. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted
