Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. S.T. McCullagh stated that he felt he maintained his position. C.D. Hayes stated that his mount was green on today's ground and he felt the gap close. S. Foley stated that his mount shied away from Deressa momentarily. B.M. Coen stated that he was not aware of the incident behind and maintained his line
Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted other than to advise C.D. Hayes to ride with more patience, if in a similar situation in the future
