Formscan By Alan Magee - CAPTAIN RYAN MATT showed promise in three maiden hurdle outings on testing ground earlier this year and if handling this sounder surface, may prove difficult to beat. The Henry de Bromhead-trained gelding filled second place twice including behind the odds-on Grimaud in a 20-runner Gowran event in March. Penny Express has also finished second twice in maiden hurdles and was reportedly unsuited by soft ground when disappointing in a Killarney handicap last time.
