Formscan By Shane Redmond - Gordon Elliott has declared three of the six runners and his four-year-old MANGE TOUT (3) is the pick with Jack Kennedy on board. She was one of the leading juvenile hurdlers of last season, beginning her campaign with a taking victory at this meeting and wrapping it up with a game success in the Grade 1 Boodles Anniversary Hurdle at Aintree in April. While the weights are certainly not in her favour as she takes on older horses for the first time, she might still be a match for her own stable companion El Cairos who won well at Gowran Park at the beginning of the month. Blake was also a winner at this meeting a year ago and he too held his form well at a hight level throughout last season.

Quotes on El Cairos (FR)
It is job done and he never came out of second gear. Jack said it was his fault at the last as he said he should have either taken him back or asked him, but I loved the way he came back on the bridle straight away and you’d have to be impressed by that,. We came here looking for good ground so I was nervous, but it was either come here or to Navan or Punchestown next week, which was getting too close to Cheltenham. I don’t think he could have done any more and he is very fast. Jack said the boot he has is unbelievable. He’ll learn plenty from today and even racing in a big field will do him no harm. He’ll go straight to Cheltenham and he’ll be way better on better ground. After El Cairos (FR) finished 1st at Thurles on Thu, 29th Jan 2026 1m 7f Maiden Hurdle Heavy

Quotes on Heads Up (GB)
Phew! Obviously everything went wrong the last day. The delay didn’t help but the way he behaved delay or no delay he would have blown his chance. The frustrating thing is that he’s a very placid horse at home and is not keen or anything. All his schooling has been in behind but if you get into a row with him, you’ll lose. It’s great to get him back and Danny gave him a lovely ride from the front, he didn’t set him alight too much. I wouldn’t say he’s had an easy race, but he would have enjoyed it and that’s the main thing. We just wanted to get him back on track. Where we go, I don’t know. There will be big decisions to be talked about, but they are nice decisions. He’s in both the Supreme and the Turners. He’s probably a two-and-a-half miler but with his exuberance we decided to come back to two and he obviously settled a lot better. This was a Listed race today so it’s obviously good to get it, in itself. I thought he actually ran remarkably well the last day to last pretty much into the home straight given that he was like a wild animal. It was like he didn’t see his hurdles; he was kicking them out of the way. He was running around and he was keen for whatever reason. Cheltenham is an atmospheric place and for whatever reason he just didn’t handle it. We had the hood on today and it obviously helped. It’s a worry because we’re going to be going to either Cheltenham, Aintree, PAfter Heads Up (GB) finished 1st at Punchestown on Sun, 15th Feb 2026 1m 7f Hurdle Heavy

Quotes on Mange Tout (FR)
She did everything wrong the last day so we said we’d drop her in, get her settled today, and see how we go. It was a good performance and I’m absolutely delighted,. I said to Jack that she didn’t jump great but he said when he pulled her out and gave her a bit of room she was very good over the last two. That’s what you want. She settled better today. She put lengths between them very quick from the last to the line and I’d imagine she’ll go to Leopardstown now. We’ll dream for another while. I’m sure there are a lot of good ones (juvenile hurdlers) still to come out. I haven’t too many of them, she’s as good as we have at the moment. After Mange Tout (FR) finished 1st at Fairyhouse on Sun, 30th Nov 2025 2m Hurdle Yielding to Soft

Quotes on Blake (GB)
To be honest, they nearly had to give it to him. You can't stop them to that degree, can you? He absolutely stopped him and he's a big, long-striding horse. If you're riding a bike and you're stopped, it's very hard to get going again that quickly. It's a nice pot to win and he'll run in the maiden hurdle at Down Royal on Saturday week. That's the plan. He jumps great and we're looking forward to him heading over hurdles. After Blake (GB) finished 1st at Leopardstown on Sun, 19th Oct 2025 1m 4f Flat Hcap Heavy

Quotes on Generous Risk (FR)
To be fair he’s not a bad horse. He had a couple of good runs in bumpers,. He was just being hard on himself in bumpers, so we said we’d go jumping. He’ll probably make a chaser next year. It’s not like us to go jumping a hurdle at this time of year, but he’s six so we said we’d let him rock on. I think he’s a nice horse, he had a really good run in Fairyhouse. He jumped great. He might go to Fairyhouse for something, and he could be a horse for Aintree. After Generous Risk (FR) finished 1st at Leopardstown on Tue, 3rd Mar 2026 2m 4f Maiden Hurdle Soft
