Formscan By Gary Carson - SHAKE THE BUCKET has been raised 7lb since his win over course and distance and it looks a good move to claim off him now. He has run really well on his two subsequent starts and was just denied by a couple of necks on his last start over a longer trip. That showed he is still up to winning off this mark and with young Luke Dempsey taking 7lb off his back now he has to have a big shout. Alghanem also has a good record around here and ran well despite a 12lb rise for his course and distance win when chasing home Asian Wing last time. With another pound for that effort, however, the handicapper may have his measure. Shukhov bounced back to form here last time with a wind op given as the reason for his improvement. He still looks competitive off a 6lb higher mark. English import Hurricane In Dubai showed some decent form last summer and is an interesting contender on his first start for David Marnane.
An extended handicap for four yrs old and upwards (85 = 9st 10lb) Weights - Top weight in the original handicap shall not be less than 9st 10lb.Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 5lb extra for each race won Any horse rated above 85 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 9st 10lb. Subsequently, the excess over 85 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse. (For the purpose of this note, any four year old rated above 85 shall have the applicable weight for age allowance then prevailing deducted from the horse's rating prior to the original calculation of the handicap)
