Formscan By John O'Riordan - A maiden winner on his recent debut at Killarney, the Paddy Twomey-trained CITY OF DUBAI(1) can follow up. Given that runners from the stable tend to improve from their initial start, it was surely significant that the Mehmas colt was good enough to strike at the first time of asking. Well entered up in Group races in the coming months, he is clearly a smart prospect that can maintain his perfect record. Sergei Diaghilev won his maiden at the Curragh before being a beaten favourite in the Windsor Castle at Royal Ascot last time. He looks the obvious danger to the selection. Bellesque came forward from a promising debut second to win at Leopardstown and is the choice of Dylan Browne McMonagle of the Joseph O'Brien pair.

Quotes on City of Dubai (IRE)
He’s a nice horse. He’s a horse that we’ve had a lot of regard for all year and he just came here ready to run. I thought if he did things right, he could do what he did and if it went wrong, he could finish fourth, that’s exactly what I told the owners this morning. There is a good history in the race and if we can be half as good as some of the previous winners, I’d be happy. His mother is by Galileo and he’s by Mehmas, I think he’ll get a mile-and-a-quarter as a three-year-old. He’s a big scopey horse with a staying pedigree. Today was a start and I’d like to take another step, if we can, before I get into anything. I think he’s very much a three-year-old so we’ll see how we go.After City of Dubai (IRE) finished 1st at Killarney on Mon, 13th Jul 2026 1m Flat Maiden Good

Quotes on Full Volume (FR)
Full Volume is a little bit of a brat, he's a bit hot and got very upset in the stalls in Down Royal. Had to be removed so he had run his race before he ever got there, but today he was very good. In the parade ring he was really good and didn't sweat up at all, but as soon as he (Foley) got on him, he started sweating and got a bit upset. He's a proper miler and will probably go further. He is a nice horse and got a lovely tow into the race so everything went right. He quickened up well and eased down. I hope he has a future as we thought he was a nice horse prior to Down Royal. We will go baby steps with him. I love Bellewstown, it is a great track. What they have done here in the last few years is amazing. After Full Volume (FR) finished 1st at Bellewstown on Fri, 3rd Jul 2026 7f Flat Maiden Good

Quotes on Sergei Diaghilev (IRE)
We’re delighted with him, he hadn’t done an awful lot of work. He only stepped into main work in the last two weeks and he did a nice piece of work last Saturday. We knew he’d be very green and there is probably a lot to come from him. It was a nice introduction for him. All the horses that we are trying to get out now could be Ascot horses, but some of them will be too green and you’ll know when you run them if they won’t make it. I’m not sure with him. We ran him because we thought he could be a Coventry horse, Ryan wasn’t sure if he was going to know enough in time. Ryan said he’ll have no problem going seven. I’d imagine he’ll stick to six for the moment. He could improve so much. The horse that Jack (Cleary) rode (fourth-placed South Dakota) could be a Chesham horse, but we’ll see what will happen after his run. After Sergei Diaghilev (IRE) finished 1st at Curragh on Sat, 23rd May 2026 6f Flat Maiden Good
