The winner of this very race 12-months ago, and successful in point-to-point's at Bellharbour and Belclare this season, he was an excellent third when last seen in the Foxhunters at Aintree. Overcoming a lengthy layoff to win on his debut for Eugene O'Sullivan at Dromahane just last weekend, Bugs Moran is of definite interest. A smart hurdler when in the care of Noel Meade, he starts off over racecourse fences now. Third to the selection in last year's renewal, Early Doors will need to bounce back from a disappointing effort in the Tetratema if he is to feature here, while others for the shortlist are Lisleigh Lad and Paul O'Flynn's West Cork Wildway.

Rules or Rules of Racing after 1st March, 2024 other than a Certified Hunters Steeplechase or a Farmers RaceWeights - 12st Mares allowed 7lbsRiders - Qualified Riders under I.N.H.S. Rules. ? A Hunters Certificate valid in accordance with Rule 78 for the 2024/2025 season for each horse engaged must be registered at the Offices of the INHSC, The Curragh, Co. Kildare not later than 15th April, or the horse will not be qualified to start. In the case of horses from Great Britain, Hunters Certificates must have been duly registered at the Racing Calendar Office. The IHRB have modified the relevant Rules to permit horses for which Hunters Certificates have been registered and which are eligible to run in Hunters Steeplechases in Great Britain to run in this race. However, horses with a Hunters Certificate that have run in any race other than a Hunters Steeplechase since 1st December, 2024 are excluded. A person who is registered as a current Keeper with the British Horseracing Authority may enter and run a horse in this race.
