The Lucinda Russell-trained gelding scored on his sole outing between the flags over 3m so this distance is likely to unlock some of his potential. Point-to-point runner-up Smokeringinthedark is an intriguing debutant under Rules and the four-year-old may serve the most resistance to the selection, ahead of Kadjar Des Mottes.
