FormscanBy Gary Carson - It's hard to look past TREACYSENNISCORTHY who could be thrown in here on his chase mark. Robert Widger's charge has been improving at a rate of knots over timber culminating with a four-timer in a valuable contest at the Dublin Racing festival early last month. He now has a mark of 138 over hurdles, 19lb higher than his mark here, and the fact that he has always been viewed as a chaser long-term would suggest that he should be able to make light of his current rating in this sphere. Willie Mullins has the three at the top of the handicap, heading by Ontheropes and the Cheveley Park-owned gelding has to be respected. He still remains a maiden over fences but ran well when third at Gowran last time and that form was given a significant boost during the week with runner-up Milan Native winning the Kim Muir at Cheltenham. The mare Tokyo Getaway comes into the race seeking a hat-trick and is another to consider but Treacysenniscorthy could be a real handicap blot.
An extended handicap steeplechase for five years old and upwards that have not won a steeplechase before 5th May 2019, other than one hunters steeplechase within the previous two National Hunt seasons that are EBF eligible Penalties - Handicapper.
