Formscan By Gary Carson - There may be a few question marks over the form of the Epsom Oaks but there was no denying that TALENT was an impressive winner. She may have been a 20/1 shot then but there was no fluke about her victory as she ran out a comprehensive winner. She has had a nice break since then and is fancied to complete the double now. Riposte looks an improver and won well at Royal Ascot. She should again have the measure of runner-up Just Pretending and looks the obvious threat. Joseph O'Brien takes the ride on Just Pretending, suggesting she's the pick of the Ballydoyle trio but Venus De Milo is an interesting contender. She showed a serious turn of foot when scoring at Naas last time and being unbeaten in two starts it's hard to know how good she is yet. It would be no surprise if she finished in front of her stable-mate. The other O'Brien runner Magical Dream looks to have a bit to find. Alive Alive Oh was very impressive when winning at Navan back in May but hasn't run since and although she looks a classy individual this ground may be quick enough for her. Chicquita was a big price when chasing home impressive winner Treve in the Prix De Diane. She still looked a bit green then and is open to more improvement. Johnny Murtagh is an interesting booking for the maiden.
