Formscan By Gary Carson - A mark of 90 doesn't look that harsh for BELLE DE CRECY who looks on the upgrade. She opened her account in some style at Roscommon last time and although it maybe wasn't the strongest contest she couldn't have done it much easier. She was entitled to win judged on her previous run when she had chased home Scintillula at Leopardstown. That rival was just held in Listed company subsequently and contests the Irish Oaks earlier on the card. Valbucca ran really well at Down Royal last time. The winner has franked the form since but even accounting for that the 7lb rise she got looks stiff enough. Eighteen Summers seems to like it around here and ran well to chase home Beach Of Falesa. But again she got 7lb for that which leaves her back on a career high mark. Regulation didn't really get into it here last time but has to have a shout on previous form while Treasure The Ridge made hard enough work of justifying a short price at Clonmel and there may be a couple better handicapped.

An extended handicap for three yrs old and upwards (95 = 9st 12lb)
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap; shall not be less than 9st 12lb
Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 5lb extra for each race won Any horse rated above 95 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 9st 12lb. Subsequently, the excess over 95 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse. (For the purpose of this note, any three year old rated above 95 shall have the applicable weight for age allowance then prevailing deducted from the horse's rating prior to the original calculation of the handicap)
