Formscan - Last season's National Hunt Chase winner Gaillard Du Mesnil brings bags of fencing experience to the table and he's a fascinating runner for Willie Mullins. However, he has to concede plenty of weight to two very exciting prospects in GREY DAWNING and Apple Away, and this trip is short of his optimum. Apple Away won the Grade 1 Sefton Novices' Hurdle in which Grey Dawning fell at last season's Aintree Festival and she may well improve for a fence, but the latter's recent run could prove crucial. Dan Skelton's charge did nothing but improve throughout the last campaign and a lovely pipe-opener, and first spin over fences, at Exeter will have put him spot-on.
