Formscan By Michael Graham - American-bred St Patrick’s Day is a fascinating runner in this Listed race. The three-year-old colt is a full brother to former US Triple Crown winner American Pharoah and holds a host of Group-race entries including in the Group One Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown in September. He was due to make his Irish debut in a Group Three at Leopardstown just over a fortnight ago but was withdrawn on veterinary advice after getting upset in the stalls (won his second start in America for Bob Baffert in September). He could be absolutely anything but it will take a good performance to beat his five rivals who are rated 99 and upwards. Preference is for ALEXIOS KOMNENOS. He was thought good enough to start his season in the Group One Lockinge at Newbury last month but never landed a blow in ninth. That was his first run since September, though, when he was sixth in a Group Two. He should strip fitter from Newbury and his last victory came three runs back in a Group Three over a mile, so he should be more than competitive in this company. A mile proved to be an ideal trip for Zorion at Leopardstown and he could be tough to beat. He won that Listed race by a head from Allegio who comes back for more today, so it could be close between the pair again. You would think there would be more to come from Zorion, though. I'm So Fancy has a mark of 104 and showed up very well when winning over a mile and a quarter here. She could be coming home stronger than most.
