Formscan By Tom Weekes - SOLITARY MAN bumped into Lucid Dreams over course and distance last month and appears suited by this staying distance. A course winner in July, he finished well in August with the runner-up also scoring next-time. He remains open to progression being a five-year-old and can better his rating. Gortmillish returned from 609 days off to win twice this summer, with his Downpatrick form being boosted by the runner-up, third and fifth all winning subsequently. He missed two subsequent engagements due to unsuitable going and while clearly able, would prefer a sound surface and has plenty weight. Lake Winnipesaukee could improve at this distance but would also prefer good ground. Winning Smut, which is 2lb 'wrong' but whose rider claims 5lb, ran notably well here in May, finishing third to Ebor winner Absurde. He also ran well in the Lartigue at Listowel but might also prefer faster ground. Hartur D'arc has been well held in handicaps although his rating has fallen.
