Formscan By Gary Carson - BOLSHOI BALLET can enhance Aidan O'Brien's terrific record in this race. The Galileo colt has the benefit of a run under his belt already this season and was impressive when landing the Ballysax Stakes on his return over course and distance last month. Ballydoyle have won these Leopardstown Derby trials with some real superstars in the past and it's a vote of confidence in Bolshoi Ballet that he has been their representative in both races this term. Obviously the big danger is Group 1 winner Mac Swiney who makes his seasonal debut. Jim Bolger's charge landed the Vertem Futurity Trophy at Doncaster last October in very testing conditions. His best runs came with plenty of cut in the ground and he may be worth taking on, on his return, on this faster surface. Taipan was third behind the selection here last time but has the potential to improve again from that run and could get a bit closer now.
