FormscanBy Tom Weekes - CAPPACON is no spring chicken as he races against horses half his age but has shown enough recently to suggest he can win from effectively 5lbs out of the handicap here. A lightly races sort who missed all of 2015 and 2016, he entered the handicap system from a low level this year and has been running consistently well all year over staying trips and on sound surfaces. Today's rider again claims 5lbs and he should be able to prove competitive. Irish Lass, under Ruby Walsh, is interesting in that she competes in her first staying race. She has shown useful form in bumpers and over shorter trips in recent times and while the step up in trip could bring about improvement, she was nonetheless well enough held in similar races on her last two starts. Ozzie's Way ran very well when third on handicap debut at Punchestown four days ago and while he makes a quick reappearance, has solid claims today with trip and ground in his favour. Los Alamos was fourth in that Punchestown race and won over CD earlier this month. This is also his preferred type of trip and going, but he too makes a quick reappearance and is now tried in first-time blinkers. Monition makes his first handicap start and cannot be ruled out despite possibly having a little to prove on overall form.
