However, a further 10lb rise in the ratings could be enough to thwart the Syd Hosie-trained gelding, with CLOVIS BOY making most appeal. Although the five-year-old will need to dispel his latest effort when pulling up at Ayr, first-time cheekpieces look just the aid to spark his interest. Scalloway Bay should relish this stiff stamina test and is a viable alternative to the selection.
