Formscan - Maltese Cross is bound to be popular after earning a first Group 1 success in the Grand Prix de Paris last month. That said, he was well held when second to CHRISTMAS DAY in the Derby and it would be no surprise to see the son of Camelot confirm that form. A subsequent second in the Irish Derby proved that his Epsom success was no fluke and Aidan O'Brien's colt sets the standard. Pierre Bonnard was only a neck behind the selection at the Curragh and is 5lb better off here, which brings him right into the equation.

Quotes on Antigua (IRE)
In fairness, he has run well in a couple of maidens before today. Jack gave him a peach of a ride. He let him at it from the word go and set a solid, even, tempo. He got them at it, really, from halfway. When the second horse came to him, he picked up and went again. This is probably his trip, but he’s in the Ulster Derby in a couple of weeks time and it might be worth a crack at that. We’ll see what way the race in Down Royal cuts up, and he might be worth a go at it. If not we’ll find a mile-and-a-quarter handicap for him. After Antigua (IRE) finished 1st at Fairyhouse on Fri, 5th Jun 2026 1m 1f Flat Maiden Good
