FormscanBy Gary Carson - This looks a tricky enough contest and MERI DEVIE may prove the answer. She made little impression on easy winner Alletrix in handicap company at Leopardstown's Dublin racing festival but there is a significant 21 pound swing at the weights now. Willie Mullins' charge was trying to give weight away all around in that 2m2f contest and the race conditions here look to suit a lot better. That was actually a better effort than her previous run in Limerick, on very heavy ground, and this step up in trip looks like it may help her judged on the way she stuck on last time. Obviously Alletrix looked an improving sort last time with an impressive performance but she was well treated at the weights then and this will be tougher off levels. Pravalaguna, stable-mate of the selection, makes her seasonal debut and looks another to consider. She was taken to France at the end of last season and picked up a place in Listed company there. She's a talented sort at best but jockey bookings would suggest she's second string on her return to action.
