Formscan By Alan Magee - MIKAEL D’HAGUENET appeared to have the jump racing world at his feet following an unbeaten novice hurdle campaign that featured wins at the Cheltenham and Punchestown Festivals but his chasing career has been checkered to say the least. Pitched straight into Grade 1 company in the Drinmore at Fairyhouse, he took an unfortunate fall at the last that unsettled his novice campaign. As a result, connections decided to revert back to hurdling last term and that patience appears to be paying off now. His jumping has been pretty good overall in two outings this term, aside from another last fence blunder on reappearance at Punchestown. He sets a high standard here. Argocat has taken really well to fences and the youngster receives a sizeable 11lb from his four rivals, while Far Away So Close is another course and distance winner among the quintet.
