Sporting proves Hero in crediting Casey with second career win
Albion Powers home for 16/1 upset in maiden
If you go back to his second-last run in a maiden here, he was probably still a bit green. He ran well and Winsome caught him for third that day. He had been working really well at home, I have been very happy with the way he is working. I tried something different. Normally I would be always taking my time, but I said to be aggressive and jump out. They went strong and hard - 38 and 37 (mph) for the first few furlongs. I said they can't keep that up for the last furlong and he was going to come at them. He just kept battling, so I was delighted with that. Delighted for the lads that own him, they are with me a long time and they bred him. His half-brother is Tara Power, and the two of them have been working together and there is nothing between them. I'm looking forward to running Tara, that's all I'll say!. When you have a lad (Caffrey) like that there that knows the track, it is unbelievable. It is nice to give a horse over to someone and let them do their work - that's their job and I've done mine.
Clonmacash much too good for rivals under Coen
He doesn't find a whole pile afterwards! Fair play to him (Coen), I told him to wait. I thought he was a bit unlucky last week - we were drawn wide and he got caught wide and my other horse beat him. We told him to wait tonight and he certainly did, fair play to him. He is a very good kid to ride. It is great for Conan (Faulkner) who works for me, he had a big operation a couple of weeks back and he is here tonight. It is great for him to be here, he rides him out. He is on the mend which is brilliant. We were going to keep him for the All-Weather Final, but then we scrapped that the other day. We will just rock on with him and I think he will be effective enough out on the grass as well. I think he was an 80-rated two-year-old. Sometimes they struggle at three and they come back and find their form, and he has.
California Dreamer easily justifies short odds to open account
She was just unlucky not to pick up one last year. I'm very, very happy with it (performance). Yes, it will be (seven furlongs to a mile in Pattern races this year). She has all the big-race entries, so we will sit down and talk and see what Ryan (McElligott), Kia (Joorabchian) and Robson (Aguiar) say. Without a doubt we will be keen to get her back on turf soon. She has strengthened up and has trained on. She definitely will improve plenty (from the run). Wayne said it came easy to her.
Exquisite Acclaim takes feature as McGuinness and Caffrey double up
He's (Caffrey) going to have to improve 3lb next week!. Fair play to him and I'm delighted for him. He has worked hard and he rides this track very well. He is a very good kid. He had no pony racing experience before he came into my place. I think it is just over three years since he started to ride and he has passed out a lot of guys on the way. He works very hard, he works for me full-time at home. In all fairness to the young fella, he deserves everything he has got. You don't do that by not working and he has worked very, very hard. He rides every track really well and he does his homework. I think he will hold his own as a pro. He will have all the support of mine and my owners. The only thing is, I need a new apprentice now!. It was a little bit unexpected, I thought the other horse (Migdam) would have run well. This horse (Exquisite Acclaim) loves this place down here.
Darkened lands apprentice handicap under stylish O'Sullivan
He ran very well the last day. That is my 100th winner on the track across Ireland and Britain, not including point-to-points. A fair achievement, I always say I'm only a part-time trainer! It is nice to get that achievement. We flew out to Cheltenham this morning and bought a couple of horses, nicer horses that we didn't have the money to spend on before. I have a few local boys backing me up with a few pound. The dearest horse I ever bought before was 26 grand. We beat it by a good bit today! We paid 80 odd grand for a horse today. We are racing in Class 5 and Class 6 all along, and we are getting winners. It would be nice to go for a nice 'Saturday' horse to try and get a name for yourself.
Carolina Jets in to bring up short priced double for Murray
She is going to improve plenty - he (Lee) said she gave a nice little bit of a heave turning out of the back. She is having a good blow there now as well. She could possibly be a middle-distance horse. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if she could get 1m4f. She will probably go for a Group 3 at Leopardstown over 1m2f next. I think her future is in Pattern company. Billy said she picked up very, very well. He said he got a lead for as long as he could and picked up great.
Sir Callisto holds on to win finale for Heffernan and Martin
Nice horse. He got a bad fall this time last year in Navan on his first run. It was a good run the last day, he was only beaten a length and a-half (in fourth). There was always going to be one like that on the door, it could easily have gone the opposite way in Gerry's (Keane, Theophilos) way tonight. That's the level he is at and that is where he is. It is great that he won for that man (Seamus Ross), he's had a terrible run of luck. Some nice horses and he looked a nice horse and got a bad fall. Hopefully, he might pick up from where we were at. It is lovely to get a bracket for the horse and the man (Ross).
