Learntodiscover just holds Puerto Rico in tight finish
Box ticked, I’d say Ryan (Moore) was a little bit unlucky,. It wasn’t a wow performance. He’s a horse that we like but I was probably a tad disappointed with the performance. I didn’t like his head carriage in the last furlong, whether that’s conditions or whatever. I don’t think he hit the line as strong as you’d like him to hit it if he’s going to go forward into the next level, so let’s just see.

Lyons and Keane double up as Quadruple wins for Juddmonte
Timing is everything, she’s in the sales at Newmarket (Wednesday 9th July) so Rory and Barry (Mahon) will discuss that,. We always thought she was a black-type filly. She was doing a job in Navan the last day and it didn’t work out so we can draw a line through that. Last year she was real tough and genuine but we didn’t get the black-type and then we just found ourselves wanting lately. That’s more like it now and we’ve a decision to make in the next few days. It’s all about the drop in class and being in your own grade, that’s what racing is about.
She's A Nation gets Devine off the mark in some style
I’m absolutely delighted. We broke her as a two-year-old and put her away, we thought she was really something special,. Her homework was very good and coming here today we thought she had good each-way chance if nothing else. It’s great to have my first winner here. I rent a small yard off the Shark (Hanlon) and we have ten in at the minute. We are tipping away between Flat and national hunt. She’s only our third runner and I don’t have the licence that long. That will get my name out there. I rode amateur for years, and have been in the game, so this is sort of the natural progression.
Punters who kept faith in Church rewarded with Curragh win
It means a lot to have a winner here, especially on Derby weekend,. She’s a filly that’s owned by my mother. She won as a two-year-old last year for us and we gave her a break, the winter off, and she came back really strong. I’d say she improved plenty from two to three. I thought it was a good run in Leopardstown the last day and I was just hoping that she’d come on from it and do what she did there today. I picked her up for 10 grand. He’s by Churchill and I’d say you could even go hurdling with her, she likes soft ground. If I still have her that might be an option.
Mouse proves real Friend to Curragh punters
He’s a lovely big horse, but very big. He had a very nice debut run but was green,. Billy have him a perfect ride, arrived at the right time but when he got there he was just a wee bit green again. When he was coming I thought ‘he’ll win this a length’ but the second rallied and put it up to our horse. I’m delighted with that. I didn’t come here to get beaten, I was very hopeful we’d win and the race went perfectly to plan. The two favourites were battled hardened horses and I knew experience would probably be our stumbling block but he overcame that and it was a very nice run. He is a big horse and we minded him last year for that reason. He is filling out and I think he has improved physically since his last run. His future is yet to come. We haven’t made any plans beyond this and we’ll see what turns up.
McGettigan wins the Apprentice Derby on Pillar Of Hope
It was nice to get it on Derby weekend. I had a winner on Guineas weekend and now with Pillar Of Hope on Derby weekend, I’m lost for words,. You couldn’t beat it, you couldn’t make it up. I bought this horse in Tattersalls two years ago. He ran in Leopardstown last time and I thought the trip was just a wee bit short for him, he was finishing out the race well. We picked this race out, a lot of people were telling me he didn’t stay but he did today anyway. It was class. Young Patrick is from Donegal and he used to ride out for me in Letterkenny. It’s a Donegal experience!. I do a bit of farming and I’m into retail as well. I just love horses and I’ve always had horses. I was into pony racing. We conquered that so we’re conquering this one now!. I’ve been into horses for about 10 years and claiming horses. Touch wood I seem to be very lucky with them at the minute. I’m getting a good run with them. Ransom ran earlier on and I think the race just came too quick after last Thursday. He’s one to watch, maybe for Galway. That’s two for Galway now, touch wood. We’ve Solomon out tomorrow in the Ladies Derby. I don’t know much about him but he’s a nice horse. If I won that it would be the icing on the cake. We’re staying down tonight, we have stables in the Curragh but we have to get somewhere to stay tonight yet. We’ll worry about that tonight. We have the expenses now and hopefully
