THE BEHIND THE LENS MEDIA HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 6) Permission was given for The Fixer (IRE) to go early, wear a red hood to post and for Forever Glamorous (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately one and a half furlongs out involving, Little Jaybee (GB), placed second, ridden by Joe Leavy and The Fixer (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Kieran O’Neill.
Leavy was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he moved right-handed towards rail when insufficiently clear, causing O’Neill to take a check off heels against the rail.
The winner, Son Of Astar (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Chepstow on 24 July 2026, where the gelding finished seventh of seven runners, beaten by 7 ¼ lengths.
The representative of Tony Carroll’s explanation that the gelding benefitted from returning to Ffos Las where the gelding had won previously and had appreciated the slower surface described as Good, which later changed to Good to Soft, was noted.
Son Of Astar (GB) was routine tested.
